These images were made in the wild marshes of the Camargue in the south of France, early in 2018. To spend time with these timeless, gentle, intelligent souls was a deeply moving experience which had an effect on me that I had not anticipated. I will never forget it.
The title of the images, ‘Le Songe des Chevaux Sauvages’, is translated as ‘Dream of the Wild Horses’, and is taken from a documentary made in 1960 by Denys Colomb Daunant which featured the beautiful wild horses of the Camargue.
Valda and I are returning to the area with a group in October. This tour is sold out but if you wish to register your interest for our future trips to this stunning region (which is not just about the horses, it has many gems to discover) you can find details and register your interest HERE
